Leader: We adore you,

O Christ, and we praise you:

All: because by your holy

cross you have redeemed the world.

Leader: When Jesus had received the wine he said, "It is finished."

Yes, Lord, Jesus; it is finished. It is complete; everything has been

accomplished. You have done all there was to do, and suffered all there was to suffer. You have forgiven everything; all sin nailed to the cross; and it is finished. You have provided for us all. And now it is finished, the life perfectly lived, the death perfectly died. You have come to the end. But for us, life is beginning.

Rest yourself now in your Father's arms in total trust.

Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice said, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."

Leader: Lord God, as we look at your Son nailed to the cross, we see that our sins are also nailed to that cross, and forgiveness is ours. Help us to forgive those who sin against us, as you forgave us who crucified your Son Jesus. Remind us that Jesus died so that we may live - and live fully, in freedom from the weight of sin.
